Sucuri Geology Sucuri Soil Geochemistry

The Sucuri Project is located in the southern portion of the Tapajós District, north of the Cachimbo rift near the border with Mato Grosso state. The geological setting of the Sucuri Project includes substantial  granites and granodiorites of the Creporizão Intrusive Suite (1,997 Ma). Primary mineralization was recently exposed by garimpeiros’ workings on colluvial material. Gold is hosted in highly silicified lodes with pyrite and chalcopyrite as the more important sulfide phases. The lodes are hosted in an E-W trending shear zone, dipping steeply to the South.

Main lode (Alvino) extends E-W approximately 200 meters with an average width ranging from 0.50 to 2.50 meters. Mineralization extends to the host hydrothermalized granodiorite. Significant intercepts in channel samples collected in the Main Lode include: 2.50m @ 11.04g/t, 3.00m @ 43.35g/t, 0.50m @ 172.19g/t and 0.50m @ 311.51 g/t exclusively in the lode and 3.80m @ 8.14g/t and 5.25m @ 6.90g/t in the lode plus wall rock. Eleven (11) chip samples, systematically collected over the main lode, returned an average grade of 35.38g/t Au.

The anomalous geochemistry trend runs E-W for at least nine hundred (900) meters and it includes three zones of lodes occurrences, Parazinho to the west, Parazão to northwest and Alvino to the east.

Fourteen drill holes (1,835 meters) have been completed at Sucuri in 2006. Mineralization style (high grade lodes) was confirmed although a significant hydrothermal halo in the wall rock was also identified. This halo is in cross section, 50 to 80 meters wide and is zoned, with predominant sericite/epidote in the center and hematite at the margins. The sericite/epidote zone hosts disseminated pyrite ± chalcopyrite ± sphalerite. Gold distribution in the sericite/epidote zone seems to be erratic and discontinuous. Significant drilling intercepts are restricted to the main lode and include 1.55m @ 22.74g/t Au (DH-03), 1.00m @ 11.38g/t Au (DH-04) and 1.65m @ 13.54g/t Au (DH-11).

Sucuri is under evaluation by Brazauro's management and the company is waiting for the DNPM's renewal of the exploration license for reassessment of the project in terms of a more detailed drilling of the high grade lodes as well as for a better understanding of the mineralization present in the altered wall rock.
